Set within the peaceful countryside of Lincolnshire, Walnut Cottage is a beautifully maintained property that has been owned and carefully looked after by James and Helen for over a decade.
Their existing entrance door had started to show its age, offering limited insulation and little visual appeal. With security and energy efficiency becoming growing concerns, the couple began looking for a high-quality upgrade that wouldn’t compromise the character of the house.
They wanted to find a product that would provide a step up in terms of thermal performance and security over their existing door, whilst also having a traditional design in matching with their grandiose home.
Forté stood out as the clear choice. The composite construction offered outstanding strength and weather resistance, while the solid timber core dramatically improved insulation — helping reduce draughts and retain warmth in the colder months.
But just as important as performance was appearance. The ability to customise the door colour, glazing and hardware allowed James to create a truly bespoke look. The Ivy’s slim central glass panel, paired with Prestige decorative glazing, lets natural light into the hallway without sacrificing privacy. The Antique Black hardware provides a subtle finishing touch that fits perfectly with the traditional aesthetic of the home.
The door was also manufactured and fitted with a grained Cream White profile, offering a softer, heritage-inspired alternative to bright white. This helped ensure a seamless blend with the home’s exterior window frames and surrounding trim. The door was installed alongside narrow glazed sign panels, bringing symmetry and extra light to the entranceway. The full setup blends effortlessly with the property’s existing architecture, from the tiled porch canopy to the timber-framed windows.
